Planning a Private Trip to Sintra
Sintra is worth the day, but only if you arrive before the buses. A private early start, one palace done properly, and the rest of the day on the Atlantic coast — that's how the day works.

Why Sintra needs a plan
The palaces (Pena, Regaleira, Monserrate) are extraordinary — and completely overwhelmed by lunch. Every serious Sintra day starts before 9:00, does one palace at unfair speed, and leaves the mountain by early afternoon.
The full-day shape we design
A private early start at Pena or Regaleira, a walk in the Monserrate gardens, lunch in the old town, then west to Cabo da Roca — the westernmost point of continental Europe — and down the Guincho coast to Cascais for the evening light. Back to Lisbon before dinner.
Where to stay
Most travellers day-trip from Lisbon. If you want a night in Sintra itself, one or two quintas up the mountain are extraordinary — your Travel Designer knows which ones actually deliver on quiet.

The private days we already run here
Planning your trip here
- Is Sintra worth a whole day?
- Yes, but only if you extend the day west to Cabo da Roca and Cascais. A palaces-only Sintra day feels short and crowded; a palaces-plus-coast day is the one people remember.
- Can we do Sintra without a private driver?
- You can, but the trains fill up and the palaces do not accept large-luggage entries. A private driver-guide books the timed entries in advance and gets you between palaces on the mountain in minutes rather than an hour.
