Alentejo Wine Tour from Lisbon — wine, cork & Évora
Two family wineries, a cork tradition stop and Évora's UNESCO old town — at the unhurried pace of Alentejo.
Portugal's most underrated wine region — and the slowest.
Alentejo is plains, cork oaks and family-run wineries that still make wine the way their grandparents did. It is also where most of the world's cork is born. From Lisbon it is a long day, not a short one — which is exactly why it stays quiet.
Cork, two wineries, Évora old town, long lunch.
We open with a cork tradition stop, taste at two family wineries — one with restaurant, one with cellars — and walk Évora's cobbled centre past the Roman Temple and the Chapel of Bones. Lunch is unhurried, somewhere local, somewhere honest.
Your driver-guide, your pace.
Hotel pickup in Lisbon, a comfortable car, and the freedom to linger an extra glass at a cellar you like or skip a stop you don't. The route is built around you — not a coach schedule.

Great guide for Alentejo and Évora
Miguel was a wonderful guide/driver for the day. He is from the area and provided a lot of history which we enjoyed, especially his stories of his days at the university in Evora. We were able to see everything we wanted and additional sights based on his recommendation. Great tour!

We had a wonderful day
We had a wonderful day with Helena. I can’t imagine a better guide her choice of winery and a small tavern for an authentic Portuguese lunch were exactly what we were looking for. I cannot recommend her highly enough.

Fantastic day with an excellent guide!
We had a wonderful full day in the Alentejo with Ricardo. We enjoyed lovely wine tastings at family wineries, learned about local wine production, and had a super interesting visit to the cork factory. (Buy your cork products there rather than in Lisbon!) He adjusted the itinerary a bit to our interests and helped us to get a taste of the local food, drink, and culture. We would absolutely tour with Ricardo again.

Above and Beyond!
Excellent! Our guide, Ricardo, was great! He is knowledgeable of the area, flexible, and entertaining. We felt this is the only way to go. Have your own guide with just a few people. Ricardo had some great suggestions that made the trip very enjoyable. Thanks!

Great wine tour and local landmarks
What a great day of wine tasting, scenic area and history. Pedro was an excellent guide. Not only did he take us to some great wineries for tastings. Also took us to the historical center in Evora and took us around to see the sights. The bonus on top was visiting the cork factory to see how cork is taken from the trees and made into amazing things other than wine bottle stoppers. Highly recommend if you like wine and history.
